Biography
I am a doctoral trainee at the University of Denver. I chose to work with anxiety and OCD to help people free themselves from suffering. It’s beautiful to watch my clients reclaim their autonomy and freedom to live full and meaningful lives, and it’s a privilege to get to share this journey with them. I believe that through connection, understanding, and collaboration, treatment is very effective in changing people’s lives for the better.
I earned a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology and French from Tulane University and a Master’s degree in Clinical Psychology from the University of Denver. I am currently also working towards my doctorate (Psy.D) at the University of Denver. During my training, I have completed externships at the Tulane Parenting Education Program, Addiction Research and Treatment Services, Colorado Therapy and Assessment Center, and the Professional Psychology Clinic.
I was born and raised in New Orleans and moved to Denver for graduate school. Now that I live above sea-level, I take every opportunity to go hiking, skiing, and camping/backpacking in the mountains. The only requirement is that my dog, Finch, can come with me! I also love biking, podcasts, and listening to live music with friends.
Q+A with Emma:
What would your clients say about you as a therapist?
My clients would likely describe me as welcoming and understanding with a touch of irreverence.
Do you have a guilty pleasure?
Vloggers on YouTube…but I don’t feel guilty about it.
What are your favorite podcasts?
Stuff You Should Know & The Bald and The Beautiful
IKON or Epic?
I’ve been always gone Epic, but this season I’ve decided to give IKON a shot! We’ll see if I’m converted or disappointed.
Do you have any pets?
I have a little rescue mutt named Finch. She is supposedly a dog, but I think she’s actually 50% raccoon. I love her dearly. If you come to the office, you will see her every now and then!
